Quality Engineering Manager – Rosemont, IL

Provide effective global leadership and oversight in ensuring successful and compliant new product introductions, and continuous product quality improvement after launch.  This role requires the ability to effectively work with design and production teams to proactively identify and address quality issues prior to launch, and to effectively trend/analyze product quality data to identify prioritized issues requiring corrective action. To successfully accomplish role, demonstration of strategic leadership and interpersonal/influencing skills are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliant and effective execution of design control and production processes
  2. Drive continuous improvement actions focused on product quality
  3. Provide global product quality leadership, training and mentoring in design control and risk management priniciples
  4. Perform role of subject matter expert (SME) during audits/inspections as requested
  5. Analyze product quality data to identify trends requiring action (CAPA)
  6. Assist in establishing appropriate sampling/inspection plans and quality measures
  7. Provide leadership in quality decisions related to product release and suppler quality
  8. Lead large scope global projects as assigned

Education and Experience: 

  1. BS degree in Engineering, Scientific, or Clinical field
  2. 5 years Quality Engineering experience within a FDA medical device regulated industry
  3. Knowledge and understanding of 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971 and ISO13485 regulations
  4. Proven experience in application statistical techniques/methods to identify product quality trends requiring action
  5. Proven experience with driving effective & sustainable change through application of CAPA
  6. Proven experience leading large scope global improvement projects
  7. Proven experience in driving compliance and quality improvement in design and manufacturing
