LifeStar ACT
The LifeStar ACT Ambulatory Cardiac Telemetry service offers the government the most clinically and financially effective arrhythmia monitoring solution. LifeStar ACT provides critical ECG information by capturing the onset, termination and escape of an arrhythmia to assist in correctly identifying and treating the patient.
LifeStar ACT utilizes an advanced algorithm that continuously analyzes the heart’s rhythm and captures both symptomatic and asymptomatic arrhythmia with no patient intervention required. The ECG data is immediately sent via various national cellular networks to one of three 24-hour call centers where LifeWatch certified cardiac technicians analyze preliminary findings. Within 24 hours, the patient reports with preliminary findings are sent to the physician over a HIPAA-compliant website.
The chart below demonstrates the average diagnostic yield of the LifeStar ACT system compared to Holter and Standard Cardiac Event monitors.

Cost Containment
- Utilization of the LifeStar ACT monitoring service may lead to earlier discharge or avoidance of readmission to a facility for patients in need of real-time monitoring, for example, medication titration.
- Utilization of LifeStar ACT may help to reduce the costs associated with stroke if the diagnosis can be made and the treatment plan created before the patient suffers a serious cardiac event.
Quality of Life
- Utilization of the LifeStar ACT monitoring service represents the most clinically advanced monitoring solution which improves compliance and at the same time may lead to an improved quality of life as a consequence of a timely diagnosis.
Features and Benefits
- Extended Enrollment Period - Significantly increases the potential of identifying an arrhythmia.
- Increased Patient Compliance - No patient intervention is required to capture or transmit critical arrhythmia data to the LifeWatch monitoring center
- Full Disclosure ECG - Up to 30 days of full disclosure ECG provides clinicians with the most data availability in the market. Physicians can revisit the past in order to understand the early symptoms and etiology of arrhythmias and determine therapeutic options.
- 24 Hour Coverage - LifeWatch guarantees clinical availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with limited hold times at our three call centers in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Boca Raton, and if necessary can coordinate EMS Services in the case of an Emergency.
- Remotely Reprogrammable - Any of the auto triggers can be modified remotely depending on the needs of the care team and specific patient
- Diagnostic Capabilities - Track the heart rate, and the number of episodes and the duration of Atrial Fibrillation, Bradycardia, Tachycardia and Pause episodes in daily, weekly & monthly reports allowing better visibility of patient compliance and timely review of aggregate data
- EMR Integration - Electronic Medical Record Integration allows single point connectivity for faster clinical data integration resulting in better decision making.
- Increased Diagnostic Yield - Data pulled from various providers is demonstrating an average of 48% yield for patients wearing the LifeStar ACT device. The LifeStar ACT is significantly more effective than the next best monitoring modality on the market.
