Atrial Fibrillation Monitoring

Each patient is provided with an exclusive LifeStar AF monitor that integrates auto-triggered technologies to record asymptomatic and symptomatic episodes of Atrial Fibrillation, Tachycardia, Bradycardia, and Pause. When a symptom occurs, the monitor automatically records the event, even if the patient has not felt any symptoms. The ECG is transmitted to our LifeStar AF Patient Care Center for immediate review and subsequent action, according to the enrolling physician's orders.

Our goal is to provide EKG reports that are clinically significant and beneficial to the treatment of your patients. To best achieve this, LifeWatch Services, Inc. (LWS) utilizes a protocol for all cardiac monitors that auto detect arrhythmias, including the LifeStar AF Express^TM cardiac event monitor and the LifeStar ACT^TM Ambulatory Cardiac Telemetry monitor system.

• Transmissions are immediately reviewed and evaluated by a LWS certified cardiac technician
• All reports that are asymptomatic and auto-triggered AND meet the criteria below will be placed in a special archive data base. Asymptomatic, Auto Triggered, Archive Criteria:
• Auto-triggered Sinus Tachycardia (unless over 150bpm) and Sinus Bradycardia (unless under 40bpm)
• Sinus Arrhythmia
• Single PACs
• Single PVCs
• Sinus Rhythm, Sinus Tachycardia, Sinus Bradycardia w/pre-existing IVCD (Intra-ventricular Conduction Delay)
• This data will not be automatically sent to you but will always be available upon request.
• An End of Session report will be issued that will list the transmissions put into this archived data base.
